Pediped

While rummaging through all of Hunter's shoes I came to realize that he no longer had any that fit him. For the last couple of months we haven't even put any on him because of the warm weather, but now that it is getting cooler out I decided we better start making a habit of it. While some of the shoes we have for him may have fit, they just don't allow for that extra chubs Hunter has on the top of his feet...all you parents out there know what I am talking about. We'll after a lot of research I found the answer to my prayers....

Aren't these super cute? These are pictures of the two pair I bought Hunter. I bought one pair at a local store and then I got another off of E-Bay. They are so flexible and allow for Hunter's chubby feet. They are great! They actually have leather soles instead of big bulky rubber soles which are apparently better for a child's foot. They are more expensive than your average children's shoe...but I was just greatful that I could find something that finally fit.

My Vote: Two-Toes Up for Pediped!

Ear Infection

This morning I got up to take Hunter to the doctor...and of course he wasn't running a fever. So I contemplated whether or not to still take him to the doctor. I decided to go anyway, and I am glad I did. The doctor diagnosed him with an ear infection and prescribed him the good smelling/tasting bubble gum flavored antibiotics. Why can't adult medicine taste like that? Anyway, we've got the diagnosis and Hunter is on his way to recovery! Yay!

Heading to the Doc!

Hunter has been running a fever the last couple of days which I wasn't too concerned about until the babysitter called me to tell me that both of her children were tested positive for strep throat. She seemed to remember that she heard that babies under a year old didn't get strep throat. I called the doctor and told them what was going on and they said while it is unlikely he got strep it doesn't mean it is impossible. So because of his high fevers and his exposure to strep, we are heading to the doc in the morning to have him checked out. Better safe then sorry!

11 Months Old!

My baby is 11 months old today! I can't even believe it. Anyway, for your viewing pleasure here is Hunter enjoying some daddy time. Enjoy!

Good Nap...Bad Hair!

You know it was a good nap when he wakes up like this!

It just hit me awhile ago when I was thinking about kids returning to school in Vienna last week, that I have lived in the Vienna area for 10 years now. It was 10 years ago I moved in with my aunt and uncle while our house was still being built so that I could start school on time, it was 10 years ago that I returned home from school on the first day and cried because I wished I was back in Jeff City with my other friends, it was 10 years ago that I was forced into a life changing expierence that I wouldn't even think about changing today. I can't imagine what my life would have been like if I never moved here. No Andy....No Hunter! This is why me and Andy's first dance at our wedding was to "God Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts. Even though at the time 10 years ago it felt like my life was being turned upside down...if I only knew if was going to be one of the best thing that even happened to me!

Vacation Recap

This is just a little recap of what went on while I was on vacation:

The Thursday Evening before I went on vacation we went to a local restaurant called Morelands for my mom’s 50th birthday. We had a great time! Here is a group picture of some of us that were there.

Friday after work, Andy, me, Kevin, Kelly and Holly went to Columbia. We started off at Bass Pro because they were having a huge sale! There was a crazy amount of people there and poor Andy didn’t walk away with much because of his up coming birthday he didn’t want to buy something that I had already got him. After shopping there we headed to HuHots, of course! It was wonderful as usual!

Saturday I had to work at the bank that morning and then afterwards I headed home to get ready for Holly’s bachelorette party. The party was a lot of fun. We rented a large van (that we decorated pretty inappropriately) and headed to Columbia. We ate at the Olive Garden and then went to Déjà Vu for a comedy show and dancing. The comedian was hilarious! The dancing portion of the night went by way too fast, before we knew it, it was 1 o’clock and they were shutting the place down. Time always flies fast when you are having fun.

Sunday we headed to the river for Andy’s 30th Birthday party. I made a lot of tombstone signs with funny sayings and pictures of Andy on them that were placed along the road for Andy to see as we headed to the river. We went on a float trip for awhile. Hunter stayed in the boat with Andy. We brought along a little inflatable pool for him to play in while he was on the boat. It worked out perfectly! Here is a picture of Hunter playing in another pool up at the lot. Notice his lovely HuHot’s tattoo we got for him when we were at HuHot’s Friday night!

Monday (the official start of my vacation) I spent the day cleaning out both of my deep freezes! I know, I know I my life is way too exciting. But this job was way over due and plus I was needing to make room from my Sam’s trip.

Tuesday I went to Columbia. I first went to the Mall and looked around a little. I ended up buying some shoes and flip flips for Holly’s wedding. After leaving there I went to HuHot’s for lunch. Listen, I can’t go to Columbia without going to HuHots, even if it means sitting in a booth all by myself…it is worth it! Afterwards I went to Sam’s. I made one mistake; I didn’t make a shopping list. I literally went up and down every isle, grabbing stuff as I went along. Needless to say, my cart was over flowing by the time I was done.

Wednesday I stayed at home and did some house cleaning.

Thursday I headed to the lake. I did a little shopping at Target and then I went to the Outlet Mall. I love this place, especially when it comes to buying stuff for Hunter. They have a Carter’s, Gymboree, Osh Kosh, and Children’s Place. So in the end, Hunter loaded up with a lot of clothes for this winter. I then made my way to Wal-Mart to buy all the groceries I wasn’t able to get at Sam’s. Our house is fully stocked with food…for now!

Friday I attempted to do more house cleaning. That evening Andy went to a Bachelor party for Abe, so Hunter and I hung around the house. Kelly, Aubrey and Holly later came up to hang out for awhile.

Saturday we had Holly’s Bridal shower. She got a lot of wonderful gifts. Afterwards we went to Donnie and Shanda’s to hang out with some of the family that was in town for the shower.

On Sunday, Andy, Hunter and I went to the Lake of the Ozarks to a family cabin. We had such a great time. It rained on us for awhile, but then it cleared up for everyone to take rides on the boats and jet skies, plus go off the rope swing. Andy finally convinced me to go off the rope swing. It ended up being a lot higher than I expected, but it was still a lot of fun.

That was the conclusion of my vacation. Reality has kicked back in and now I am back at work. Booo!

It Was Bound to Happen!

There are hundreds of toys that make up our living room, but the object of Hunter's affection has always been our DVD tower. We are constantly telling him "no" and moving him away from the tower as he proceeds to pull the DVD's off one by one. Well, the other morning as I was getting ready in the bathroom and Hunter was playing quietly in the living room (quiet usually means trouble) when I heard a loud crash. I knew instantly what it was....and this is what I found.

Up Coming Events

As you saw on my previous post, today is my mom's 50th birthday. So we are heading to Moreland's tonight to celebrate. I would have loved to of had a big surprise party for her, but my life was pretty well threatened by her if I decided to do so.

Tomorrow night, we are going to HuHot's because not only are we way over due, but we are going to celebrate Andy's 30th birthday which falls on Sunday. Two milestone birthday's within days of each other, crazy!

Saturday I have to work at the bank until noon....AND THEN I AM OFF OF WORK FOR A WHOLE WEEK! All I can say is THANK GOODNESS....and I'll just leave it at that!

But that night is when the party begins! We are having Holly's bachelorette party! I can't give you any details at this time because Holly has no clue what we have in store for her. But I can guarantee it is going to be a great time!

Sunday (Andy's birthday): we are heading to the river to celebrate. I hadn't planned on it being a surprise since it is the actual day of his birthday, but as of right now he is oblivious to it. So he will be surprised (hopefully not mad) when he sees the cake and decorations.

So it is going to be a fun and busy weekend followed by a week of relaxation!

Happy Birthday MOM!!!

Other News!

On Sunday, my cousin’s girlfriend gave birth to a little girl!

Jacquelyn McKenzie
7 lbs 12 oz
19 inches long

So last night after work, Hunter and I made a trip to Jeff City to meet the new baby. But before heading over there, we stop off at the new Wal-Mart. Which I would like to point out….it is awesome! First of all there is like no one there and you practically park right in front of the door. Everything is so new, clean and organized. As we were walking in, I thought “Damn, I have to pee!” and with that a million things starting going thru my mind…”What do I do with Hunter?” “I can’t take my cart in there” “I’m not going to set him on the floor” “Do I keep him on my lap as I tinkle?” Seriously….what do you do!

So as I walked into the bathroom carrying Hunter on my hip, I began strolling past all of the empty stalls deciding that the handicap stall would be best for juggling a toddler as I was trying to take care of business. Anyway, as I went to open the stall door…THERE IT WAS! It was like the gates of heaven opened and a bright light came shinning down with the sound of harps playing in the background. They had a plastic chair (similar to the changing tables in bathrooms) that was bolted to the wall for you to strap your kid into as you went to the bathroom. How freaking awesome is that!!!!!!!! You know it is the little things in life, but this made my day. And because of that I had to take a picture!

Anyway, Thank you Mister Toilet Stall toddler chair/holder inventor!

Ok enough with the bathroom talk! We finally made it over to see baby Jacquelyn. Oh my goodness she is so tiny and cute. Erik is going to be such a great daddy, he just grinned ear to ear the whole time we were there. He was so proud of her and was not afraid to jump in there and change her diaper! It was so crazy to see Hunter next to her. I can’t believe that at Hunter’s smallest he was almost 3lbs less than her, but I know his head was never that small! No offense Hunter, you were just blessed with a large head! Hunter had a great time being in a new place and meeting new people. It wasn’t until we were getting ready to leave that he had had enough. But now I know why, we didn’t even make it onto the Highway and he was asleep. Ah good times!

Weekend Recap!

On Saturday I had to work at the bank, but shortly after I returned home my Dad and Step-Mom Denise pulled up from Omaha, NE. We haven’t seen them since before Christmas and in return they haven’t seen Hunter since before Christmas. Boy has this kid change since then, not only is he 3 times the size but is mobile and extremely active. We had a great time just hanging around the house and catching up on things. Hunter loaded up on toys from Grandma and Grandpa as well. He really loves this toy gumball machine that pops out balls for him to play with. Now there are balls scattered all over the living room and at times I find them in random places around the house. That evening we went to Matt’s Steakhouse in Rolla for supper. This was the first time we had ever been there. It was so good, but really expensive! I loved their endless salad and breadsticks! I don’t know what there salad dressing is, but it is wonderful! Because it was my birthday a few days prior, they brought me out a bowl of ice cream with a lit candle in it. Thank goodness they did not sing to me! All in all, it was wonderful! Sunday before Dad and Denise had to leave, we went to the Knights of Columbus picnic they were having in Vienna. They were serving Fried Chicken and Pulled Pork. After filling ourselves full, Dad and Denise headed back to Omaha. But not before them delivering me their Bow Flex! I am so excited about this. They have had this Bow Flex in their basement for awhile and they haven’t been using it because they have joined a gym instead. So I volunteered to take it off of their hands! I am really excited because since Hunter was born I had to cancel my gym membership. So now I have practically have a gym in my house! Thank you guys so much!

Hunter's New Eating Technique!

Hunter was cracking me up while he was eating last night. He kept on sticking his tongue out like a cow!

Weekend Recap

Friday evening we had a fish fry down at Donnie and Shanda's and afterwards Andy and I headed down to Argyle to play some sand volleyball. It was so hot and sticky but then the rain came rolling in to cool us off.

I had to work Saturday morning, but afterwards I headed home to do some house cleaning. That evening we headed to Kevin and Kelly's house to hang out for awhile and hear how their float trip went that day.

Father's Day: We had a big family get together down at Donnie and Shanda's. We fried fish and turkey. All the kid's really enjoyed playing in the pool, while all the adults were trying to find some sort of shade to stay cool. Afterwards we headed over to Mom and Tim's house to give Tim his father's day gift. By that point Hunter was exhausted and ready to go home for bed...as well was I.

Once again it was a busy weekend that flew by way too fast!

Here are some pictures from the weekend!

Hunter giving Andy his Father's Day card!

Hunter's monkey version of feeding himself!

Hunter ready and excited to get in the pool!

Hunter splashing away! He loved his turtle...it was perfect for him!

Hunter's Future!

We always get so many comments on Hunter's curly hair, and here is proof of where it comes from. This is a picture of me when I was young. Please no laughing!
